About Us

makepath is a geospatial data science company with a specialty in full-stack application development.

We are passionate about the open source ecosystem, and we contribute to many ongoing projects.

The company was founded by Brendan Collins and Pablo Fuentes in Austin, Texas.

Brendan Collins – Founder and Principal

Brendan is an expert in data science and geospatial technology. He has worked with many of the world’s leading organizations including NASA, Samsung, The World Bank, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, USAID, and many others.

Brendan is an active contributor and core developer on several open source projects. He is a core developer on Datashader, Bokeh, and most recently he created the xarray-spatial library for large scale spatial analysis.

Brendan founded makepath to expand the scope of services and products he is involved with, and to help further his vision of a world that is more interconnected and aware.

Brendan is an avid swimmer, biker, and guitarist. He is also an FAA sUAS Certified Pilot.

Pablo Fuentes – Founder and Principal

Pablo is an experienced product designer and technology leader. At makepath, Pablo leads the design and development of custom products and applications for clients, with a focus on beautiful and usable visualizations of large datasets.

Previously, Pablo founded Proven, where he designed and built products that are used by millions of people to find jobs and to hire talent.

Pablo holds a BA in Political Science from UCLA and an MBA from Stanford University.

In his spare time, Pablo loves to write and play songs, build and restore guitars, and spend time outdoors in Texas and in The Rockies with his family and his dog.
